Current Saintsations and Sainsations alumni in conjunction with Ochsner Medical Center representatives and Susan G. Komen Foundation volunteers will treat fans to a halftime performance recognizing the club's support of breast cancer awareness for the game against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday.
Breast cancer awareness has been a topic close to the hearts of the Saintsations since a Saintsations alumna, Sheri Oubre, lost her battle to breast cancer at the age of 40 in 2010.
Oubre was a native of Metairie and spent her spare time cheering on the Saints and giving back to the community before her passing in December of 2010. She leaves a legacy of hope and spirit and we want to recognize her efforts and contributions to the Saints organization and the community.
"Sheri represented outstanding young women, community service and role model," said Lesslee Fitzmorris, president of St. All-Star and manager of the Saintsations. "She was a great alumni member and every year in October our team remembers Sheri and says a prayer for her and her family. She is missed."
