New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Friday that the club has agreed to terms with wide receiver Brandin Cooks. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:

1. Brandin Cooks returns to the team that drafted him in the first round (20th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. In three seasons with the Saints (2014-2016), Cooks accrued 215 receptions for 2,861 yards which ranks 13th in franchise history as well as 20 touchdowns which is tied for 14th in franchise history.

2. Cooks is also the recipient of the longest reception in franchise history. In Week 1 of the 2016 NFL season against the Oakland Raiders, quarterback Drew Brees connected with Cooks on a deep strike that the wide receiver took to the house for a 98-yard touchdown.

3. During his time with the Saints, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Rams, Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys, Cooks has racked up 710 career receptions for 9,532 yards (10th among active NFL players) and 60 touchdowns (13th among active NFL players) in 158 career games (144 starts). Cooks has had six 1,000-yard seasons (2015-2018, 2020-2021) which ties for the fifth-most in the NFL since he was drafted in 2014, and is one of two players to have a 1,000-yard season with four franchises.

4. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound wide receiver has appeared in seven playoff games, including two Super Bowls, and hauled in 45 receptions for 494 yards, as well as attempted three rushes for 12 yards.

5. An accomplished collegiate player, Cooks was the recipient of the Biletnikoff Award and a consensus All-American in his final season with Oregon State. In that season, Cooks set the school and Pac-12 single-season receiving records after bringing in 128 catches for 1,730 yards and 16 touchdowns. His 2,019 all-purpose yards also ranked second in school history. He finished his career with the Beavers with 226 receptions for 3,272 yards and 24 touchdowns.
