Leading up to the team's preseason home opener on Aug. 25, the New Orleans Saints will be unveiling the final updates of the Caesars Superdome's dynamic $560 million transformation, strategically aimed at enhancing the facility's fan experience. The team has proudly committed nearly $180 million toward the $560 million project. The collaborative project funded by the New Orleans Saints, Louisiana Stadium & Exposition District (LSED), and the State of Louisiana has progressed over a five-year period through the work of a team of architects, contractors, designers and construction workers operating around the clock in order to reach its completion by the start of the 2024 Saints season. Saints season ticketholders and their guests will be the first to experience the remarkable evolution of the facility prior to the building hosting the National Football League's showcase event, Super Bowl LIX, on Feb., 9, 2025, the year which will also be the 50th anniversary of the stadium.
The purpose of the Caesars Superdome transformation project is to preserve the character of the building's iconic exterior, while elevating its overall functionality and the gameday experience for all guests. These modernizations bring the facility in line with stadiums being built and renovated across the world, thus keeping the storied home of the Saints and the city of New Orleans as ideal hosts for the upcoming and future Super Bowls, as well as numerous national and international events for decades to come. Equally as important, the Caesars Superdome will continue to serve as a source of great civic pride while providing a significant economic impact for the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana.
Additional fan amenities and technology improvements at the Caesars Superdome
New Orleans Saints fans will now be able to enjoy several new amenities and convenience-based improvements, thanks to investment in structure and technology.
"Throughout this process of completely transforming the Caesars Superdome, we paid close attention to the input of our fans and what they demand on gameday," Saints President Dennis Lauscha said. "The front-facing upgrades, combined with a focus on and significant investment in state-of-the-art technology that we will grow with, will allow them to enjoy the experience they deserve."
Saints pro shops
On gameday, based in three locations convenient to guests' specific point of entry, Saints fans now have three full-service pro shops available, with a widespread selection for men, women and children of the most official up-to-date merchandise and stylish clothing and sportswear. The two Saints pro shops that have existed since the start of last season are located at Ochsner Gate A Ground Level (Poydras Street entrance) and at the Gate H Interior Plaza. The Ochsner Gate A Ground pro shop is open to ticketed guests for the two hours prior to kickoff and re-opens for one hour following the conclusion of the game. The Gate H Interior Plaza Pro Shop also opens two hours prior to kickoff and stays open for one hour after the conclusion of the game.
There is a brand new team store on the 500 level, conveniently located by the escalators leading up to the 635-645 Upper Terrace. This addition enhances the game day experience by offering fans a fresh and accessible location to purchase Saints merchandise.
Six days a week throughout the year, the Ochsner Gate A Ground Saints pro shop is available for fans to purchase items, which is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday-Friday and from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. From Monday-Friday, complimentary parking for pro shop customers is available in Garage Six at the Caesars Superdome.
Cashless technology
As part of accommodating the most seamless and quickest purchase process possible for food and beverage and merchandise and taking advantage of an upgraded wireless and cellular system, the Caesars Superdome is now a cashless operation and features a state-of-the art point-of-sale system. In addition to all major credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and Android Pay, along with contactless EMV are accepted inside the Caesars Superdome. Every single one of the in-seat vendors now are equipped with handheld credit card reader technology, with performance and efficiency assisted by the stadium's WiFi coverage upgrade, allowing fans to easily play with credit.
Guests also have the option of converting cash into a Visa debit card at several locations outside (Champions Square: Opening Act and the Outdoor Plaza Gate H Box Office) and inside (100 Plaza Level: Gates A, C & G, 200 Loge Level: Gates A, C, E & G and 500 Terrace Level: Gates A, C & G) inside the Caesars Superdome.
If fans forget their cards or smartphones, debit cards are sold in $25 and $50 denominations and can be used at any point of sale location in the Caesars Superdome. Any remaining balance can be used at locations where debit purchases are accepted.
500 Level Improvements
The 500 level bars and dining areas at the Caesars Superdome have been upgraded, with improved food and beverage choices, and better overall amenities. These changes aim to provide a more enjoyable and comfortable experience in the upper sections of the stadium.
Family restrooms
In the Saints' commitment to providing convenience to families, two family restrooms with single-stall facilities on the loge level will now be available in the transformed Caesars Superdome in 2024 for guests accompanying children. This now adds up to a total of 11 family restrooms with baby changing stations available in key sections of the stadium, including the club level.
Additional televisions in key areas
In order to ensure that fans are able to keep up with the action throughout the game when making a trip to the restroom or to purchase concessions, over 800 new flat screen televisions have been installed. Fans in renovated spaces will be able to experience double the amount of TVs and those waiting in line will benefit from the televisions by seeing digital menus in concession areas and being able to view the game, while waiting in line. The digital menus on televisions will reduce transaction and wait times to quickly return guests to their seats to enjoy the game.
Quick and safe screening upgrades
Throughout the Caesars Superdome in 2024, all guests will be able to screened in quicker fashion while maintaining the same commitment to safety through the addition of OPENGATE technology. This groundbreaking detection system allows fans to proceed through the screening process without the divestiture of belts, coins, keys, watches, jewelry wallets, small purses and clear bags that are allowed within NFL regulations to allow for a fast, automatic and unprecedented screening process.
