Drew Brees named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Steelers

Drew Brees threw five touchdowns and zero interceptions in Sunday's win against the Steelers

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week, the NFL announced Wednesday.

Brees completed 19 of 27 passes for 257 yards, five touchdowns and earned a passer rating of 140.0 in Sunday's 35-32 road win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It was Brees' ninth career five-touchdown game, tied for first in NFL record books with Peyton Manning.

It was Brees' NFL record seventh game with five touchdown passes and zero interceptions.

Brees' 18 Player of Week Awards since joining the New Orleans Saints in 2006 are most in the NFL during that span.
