BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Lottery's popular professional football team-branded scratch-off game is back, just in time for the much-anticipated start of the season. Beginning Aug. 29, "New Orleans Saints 2011" will go on sale at Lottery retailers.
"For the past two years, the Lottery's Saints-themed scratch-off games have exceeded sales expectations by selling out and becoming our best performing $5 games ever," said Lottery President Rose Hudson. "We're hoping for a fantastic finish again this year as we celebrate our twentieth anniversary!"
New Orleans Saints 2011 features five top prizes of $100,000 and offers players the chance to win coveted game-ticket prize packages and autographed merchandise through two second-chance drawings.
The Lottery will print 1.2 million tickets, and approximate overall odds of winning an instant prize on the game are 1 in 3.82.
Nonwinning New Orleans Saints 2011 tickets can be mailed to the special second-chance drawing address printed on the back of the ticket in an envelope no larger than 4.5" by 9.5". Players can enter as many times as they wish, but each entry should be mailed in a separate envelope.
Tickets received by Nov. 7 will be entered into the first drawing for the chance to win one of three 2011 Saints Prize Packages. Each package will include four Plaza Club Sideline tickets to the Saints vs. Detroit game on Dec. 4 with access to the Plaza Bunker Club, a parking pass, four pre-game field passes, one night hotel accommodation (two rooms), $200 dinner allotment and $500 spending cash.
A second drawing will be held once the game has closed for one Saints 2012 Season Prize Package, which includes four Plaza Sideline season tickets for the 2012 football season, a 2012 season parking pass, four 2012 pre-game field passes, a tour of the Saints practice facility and lunch with the Saints head coach for up to four people. In addition, 25 Official Autographed Saints Merchandise Prizes will be awarded, to include a helmet, jersey or football.
The Lottery renewed its sponsorship agreement with the Saints in July, and the second-chance drawing prizes were provided to the Lottery as part of that agreement.
"Working with the Saints has provided added value to our games, thus enhancing the playing experience for our players," said Hudson. "When you combine two great Louisiana brands known for fun and excitement, you have a winning combination!"
The Louisiana Lottery is solely responsible for conducting and administering the scratch-off game and related second-chance drawings. Complete game and second-chance drawing entry rules will be posted on the Lottery's website, www.louisianalottery.com, once the game is launched.
Lottery ticket purchasers and second-chance drawing entrants must be at least 21 years of age. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, help is available by calling 1-877-770-7867. For security purposes, the Lottery encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing.
