Halftime update: Dallas Cowboys 10, New Orleans Saints 7

Brees threw touchdown pass No. 399

The Dallas Cowboys took a 10-7 lead over the New Orleans Saints into halftime Sunday night at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Dallas scored on a 30-yard Dan Bailey field goal and a 1-yard Joseph Randle touchdown dive that initially was ruled a fumble recovered by the Saints.

Drew Brees, back in the starting lineup after missing last week's game vs. the Carolina Panthers because of s shoulder injury, led the Saints on an 80-yard scoring drive that was capped by a 3-yard touchdown pass to tight end Josh Hill. The touchdown was No. 399 of Brees' career. Brees also surpassed 5,000 career completions in the first quarter.

Brandon Weeden started at quarterback for the Cowboys with Tony Romo sidelined by a broken clavicle. Weeden was 8 of 12 for 66 yards. Brees was 17 of 20 for 115 yards and the TD pass to Hill.

Saints left tackle Terron Armstead left the game in the first quarter. Dallas linebacker Sean Lee left the game in the first quarter with a concussion.
