New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton will sign copies of his book "HOME TEAM" for fans in two locations in the New Orleans area next week. The signings will take place at Barnes & Noble in Mandeville on Monday, July 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 28 at Academy of the Sacred Heart in uptown New Orleans from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m, in an event run by Garden District Books.
The book, which opened on the New York Times Bestseller List is written by Payton and New Orleans native Ellis Henican and tells the incredible story of how New Orleans and its perennially-losing "home team" supported and inspired each other to rebuild and to come back fighting. This remarkable tale of how a city and a football team, both emotionally and physically beaten, reversed their fortunes is one of the best underdog stories of recent years.
Four years after Hurricane Katrina, the New Orleans Saints made history, breaking television viewing records and winning Super Bowl XLIV. Millions who had equated the Superdome with the pain and suffering of four years earlier, now watched as that same stadium came to symbolize both a city and a football team that had triumphed over adversity. HOME TEAM is a celebration of the incredible spirit and indomitable will shown by the people of New Orleans whose perseverance and loyalty inspired the Saints to do much more than just win games.
Below is the information for the two signing locations. Fans interested in attending are asked to call the bookstores directly about signing guidelines and obtaining a ticket for the signing.
