New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September, the NFL announced Thursday.
Graham is the first tight end to win Player of Month since the NFL started the award in 1986.
Graham finished his record-breaking month with 27 receptions for 458 yards with six touchdowns. He's ranked second in the NFL in receiving yardage, tied for first in touchdown receptions and fourth in first downs.
He's coming off one of the most dominant three-game stretches for an NFL tight end, where he posted 23 receptions for 413 yards (18.0 avg.). with five touchdowns.
Graham's three-game span of 413 yards is tied for the most by a tight end over a three-game span in a single season, tied with Shannon Sharpe (1996) and Dave Kocourek (1961).
