A few takes from Coach Sean Payton'sFriday teleconference.
- Atlanta Falcons receiver Julio Joneswidely is regarded as one of the top receivers in the league – and in many opinions, he heads the list. As usual, he'll present a huge challenge for the New Orleans Saints on Monday night. "He's got tremendous catching radius and they do a great job of getting him in the plan," Payton said, before running through the variety of routes that Jones will run. "It's a much different type of offense – I would say more difficult – just from a preparation just because of their ability to run the football."
- Several Saints cornerbacks have limited NFL experience, period, so they haven't been exposed to playing against the likes of Jones. However, Sterling Moorehas. Moore largely drew the assignment of defending Odell Beckham Jr.against the Giants on Sunday, and because he played for Tampa Bay and has lined up opposite Jones (he also had defended against Beckham), may be able to share some knowledge with his younger teammates about Jones. "I think that veteran presence, that veteran calmness, helps," Payton said.
- Payton likes what he has seen from Andrus Peatsince the former first-round pick has moved from right guard to left guard. "I would say we're very pleased in the first two weeks. Obviously, the challenge that he had – it was on us (coaches) as much as anyone in training camp – was being moved around. But I think that him on that left side, the stance he's used to being in (Peat played left tackle in college), he has done well."
