New Orleans Saints 2017 season recap: Drew Brees

Saints quarterback had another record-setting season

Drew Brees finished his 12th season with the New Orleans Saints in record-breaking fashion. Brees became one of three quarterbacks in NFL history with 70,000 passing yards; he set the NFL record for single-season completion percentage (72 percent) and owns three of the top four completion percentage seasons in league history. Brees also was selected to the 2018 Pro Bowl for the 11th time.

BEST GAME: Brees completed 22 of 28 passes for 220 yards with three touchdowns in a road win over the Carolina Panthers. The 34-13 victory was the first in an eight-game winning streak that helped the team recover from its 0-2 start.  Later in the season in a win over the Bears, Brees joined Brett Favre (6,300) and Peyton Manning (6,125) as only the third player in NFL history with 6,000 career completions becoming the fastest player to reach 6,000, beating Manning (259) by 19 games.

BEST QUOTE: "I think there is a confidence, there's a bit of a swagger knowing what we are capable of and at the end of the day you want to play your best football this time of year and as it carries you forward when you're accomplishing the goals that you've set for yourself." - Brees following the team's big comeback victory over the Washington Redskins in Week 11.
