New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton on Monday announced that linebacker Rufus Johnson and offensive lineman Senio Kelemete are the final two members of the team's eight-man practice squad.
Johnson and Kelemete signed Monday while the other six members - quarterback Ryan Griffin, receiver Saalim Hakim, tight end Michael Higgins, fullback Austin Johnson, offensive lineman Marcel Jones and defensive back Jumal Rolle - signed Sunday.
The Saints announced their 53-man roster Saturday.
Johnson was the club's sixth-round draft pick in 2013 and finished the preseason with four tackles (two solo). Converted to linebacker after playing defensive end for two years at Tarleton State, the Dallas native posted college totals in 20 games with 19 starts of 96 tackles (55 solo), 33 tackles for a loss, 15.5 sacks, three passes defensed and one forced fumble.
Kelemete (pronounced "SENN-ee-oh" "KEL-uh-MET-tay") was a fifth-round draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2012 and spent his entire rookie season on the club's roster before debuting at right guard in his team's season finale. The Seattle native was a two-time team captain and All-Pac 12 performer at the University of Washington, where he appeared in 46 games with 41 starts on the Huskies offensive line. He finished his college career by opening 26 consecutive games at left tackle after starting 11 of 12 games at guard during his sophomore campaign.
