New Orleans Saints and Pierre Thomas agree to terms on a two-year extension

Pierre Thomas led all NFL running backs with 77 receptions in 2013

The New Orleans Saints and running back Pierre Thomas have agreed to terms on a two-year extension on Wednesday. The announcement was made by Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis.

In 2013, Thomas appeared in all 16 regular season games with nine starts and led the club in rushing with 549 yards and two touchdowns and ranked second on the club in receiving with a career-high 77 receptions for 513 yards with three touchdowns.

Thomas' reception total ranked first in the NFL among running backs in 2013. He was also named the Franchise's "Man of the Year" for the numerous charitable endeavors he participates in and was the club's 2013 nominee for the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.
