New Orleans Saints at Chicago Bears first quarter update: The Saints controlled the period thanks to strong play from their defense - two sacks and a forced fumble - but only managed two Garrett Hartley field goals.
The Saints took their opening possession 39 yards in 10 plays and converted on a 47-yard Hartley field goal. They got the ball right back when safety Malcolm Jenkins sacked Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and forced a fumble that Cameron Jordan recovered at the Bears' 13-yard line. But the Saints were stopped at the 1 and Coach Sean Payton elected to have Hartlety kick a 19-yard field goal.Â
