The New Orleans Quarterback Club will host its first meeting on Monday, Aug. 26 at noon at the Cannery, 3803 Toulouse St.
Saints Executive Vice President and General Manager Mickey Loomis will be a featured speaker joined by Curtis Johnson, Tulane's coach and former Saints wide receivers coach. LSU Coordinator of Football Relations Charles Baglio and Newman Coach Nelson Stewart will also be in attendance.
The Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club is sponsored by Compliance Technology and 2013 marks its 75th year.
Annual membership is $50. Members and non-members are invited to the weekly luncheons, which are held every Monday for 17 consecutive weeks, with the exception of Tuesday, Sept. 3, the day after Labor Day, running through Monday, Dec. 16.
The cost for members for lunch is $20 while non-members are welcome at $25 each. Speakers on the Saints, LSU, Tulane and prep football are featured every week. The Quarterback Club selects a prep player of the week from the metro area each week and will announce a prep player of the year at the final meeting on Monday, Dec.16, sponsored by the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.
