New Orleans Saints executive vice president/general manager Mickey Loomis announced Monday that the club has promoted Ryan Pace to director of player personnel.

"We are pleased to announce that we have promoted Ryan Pace to director of player personnel," said Loomis. "Ryan has been an important member of our scouting team for more than 12 years now. Over the last several years, he has played an important role in the process of constructing our roster. He will continue to be a great asset to the New Orleans Saints."

Pace, entering his 13th year in the Saints organization, will oversee the club's player personnel department. He will work closely with Director of College Scouting Rick Reiprish as well as the pro personnel department.

Previously, he served as the club's director of pro scouting since 2007 and was responsible for managing the entire pro personnel department on a daily basis. His duties included overseeing the club's staff of pro scouts, recommending player acquisitions through free agency, waivers and trades and supervising the advance scouting of upcoming opponents.

Pace began his career with the Saints in 2001 as an operations assistant, assisting in the coordination of all operations on game days, training camp and with the Superdome. He served as a scouting assistant from 2002-03 and as a pro scout from 2003-06.

The Flower Mound, Texas native was a four-year letterman at defensive end at Eastern Illinois from 1995-99, serving as a team captain as a senior, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing.
