The preview starts with the quarterback postion, led by Super Bowl XLIV Most Valuable Player Drew Brees. While Brees will be working on his timing with his receivers and leading the first team offense, the battle for the backup quarterback job is open and will be an intriguing competition throughout practices and preseason games.

WORTH NOTING:Brees showcased another historic season in 2009 that was capped off by his Most Valuable Player performance in Super Bowl XLIV. Brees completed 363 of 514 passes (70.6%) for 4,368 yards with a club-record 34 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a league-leading 109.6 rating. His 70.6 completion percentage set an NFL single-season record. He was selected as a starter for the NFC in the Pro Bowl, his fourth Pro Bowl selection. Daniel spent time rotating with practice squad and the 53-man roster last season and did not see any action. Canfield earned First Team Pac-10 honors after leading the Beavers to an 8-5 record and completing 303 of 406 attempts (67.3%) for 3,272 yards, 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions in his senior year.
