The New Orleans Saints have signed wide receiver Maurice Harris to a reserve/future contract, it was announced by Saints' Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis.
Harris, a three-year NFL veteran was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by Washington in 2016 out of California and has experience as a receiver and a returner. In three seasons in Washington, he played in 28 games with seven starts and amassed 40 receptions for 432 yards and one score, while adding six kickoff returns for 118 yards. Harris attended training camp with the New England Patriots in 2019. In 2018, Harris set career-highs in receptions (28) and receiving yards (304), including a career-best 10 catches for 124 yards vs. Atlanta, Nov. 4. Harris also rushed twice for ten yards and returned three punts for 11 yards in 12 games.
The Greensboro, N.C. native played collegiately at Cal from 2012-15, appearing in 46 games with 14 starts, totaling 81 receptions for 1,009 yards and ten touchdowns. He posted 40 grabs for 558 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games with seven starts as a senior in 2015. Harris is the cousin of Los Angeles Chargers wideout Keenan Allen.
