New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton announced after Monday's practice that the team has signed WR Patrick Crayton and waived WR Brent Leonard.
Crayton has played eight seasons in the NFL, six for the Dallas Cowboys and two for the Chargers.
The Waxahachie, TX native last played in the NFL for San Diego during the 2011 and 2010 seasons where he had 51 receptions for 762 yards and two touchdowns in 23 games.
While in Dallas, Crayton posted 196 career receptions for 2,888 yards and 23 touchdowns after the Cowboys drafted him in the seventh round out of Northwestern Oklahoma State in the 2004 NFL Draft.
For his career, Crayton has played in 105 ames with 36 starts and recorded 247 receptions for 3,650 yards and 25 touchdowns.
