Drew Brees topped the 200-yard passing mark for the 39th straight game


*With the loss, the Saints fell to 6-2 on the season and 6-6 all-time against the New York Jets. The Saints will return home next Sunday to face off against the Dallas Cowboys at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. CT.

*QBDrew Brees completed 30-of-51 passes for 382 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

*Brees' multiple-touchdown pass game was the 106th of his career. Brees trails only Brett Favre (159), Peyton Manning (142), Marino (127) and Tom Brady (110).

Breesand guard JahriEvansappeared in their 119th games today as Saints, moving them into sole possession of 25th on the club's all-time list, surpassing safety Brett Maxieand defensive end Charles Grant.

*WRLance Mooreenjoyed his most productive game of the season with six receptions for 60 yards.

*WRRobert Meachemgot the start and posted four receptions for 93 yards, his largest output of the season, including a second quarter 60-yard reception.

*RBPierre Thomas carried six times for 24 yards and also had seven receptions for 66 yards, including a third quarter gain for 25 yards to set up a field goal.

*RB TravarisCadethandled kickoff return duties, bringing back 3 kicks for 61 yards and also downed a punt at the Jets four-yard line on the final play of the first quarter.

*TE Jimmy Grahamhad nine receptions for 116 yards, including a first quarter 51-yard touchdown and a second quarter 10-yard scoring grab. It was Graham's eighth career two-touchdown contest. Graham's 33 touchdowns including the postseason since 2011 are the highest total by a tight end. Graham has 10 touchdowns halfway through the season.

*ILBDavid Hawthornehad a first quarter sack of Jets QB GenoSmith. Hawthorne finished with five solo tackles, eight total.

*ILBCurtis Loftonfinished with 12 tackles (seven solo). He passed the 800 tackle mark as he now has 805 for his six-year career.

*OLBJunior Galetterecorded his fourth sack of the season in the third quarter to get the Saints defense off the field on a third down play.

*K Garrett Hartleykicked a career-long 55-yard field goal in the third quarter to put the Saints within six points, adding a 43-yard make in the fourth quarter to bring the game back within six.
