Latest Saints Mock Draft picks (3/11/25 - 3/17/25)

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders (2) in the second half of an NCAA college football game Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, in Boulder, Colo.
Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders (2) in the second half of an NCAA college football game Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, in Boulder, Colo.

Sayre Bedinger's latest mock draft has the Saints drafting Shedeur Sanders, quarterback from Colorado.

"In what would undoubtedly be a stunning turn of events, Shedeur Sanders falls to the ninth overall pick and potentially sets himself up to be the heir apparent to the throne in New Orleans behind Derek Carr."

Shedeur Sanders' Career Overview

2024: 2nd-Team AP All-American, Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, 1st-Team All-Big 12. Finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award (nation's top QB). Led FBS in completion percentage (74%), ranked second in completions (353), and fourth in passing yards (4,134). School-record 37 passing TDs. Started all 13 games.

2023: Honorable Mention All-Pac-12. Set school record with 510 passing yards in debut vs. TCU. Started 11 games before missing the finale with a fractured back. 3,230 pass yards, 27 TDs, 3 INTs.

2022 (Jackson State): SWAC Offensive Player of the Year, 1st-Team All-SWAC. 3,752 yards, 40 TDs, 6 INTs. Finalist for the Walter Payton Award (top FCS player).

2021 (Jackson State): Jerry Rice Award winner (FCS Freshman of the Year), 2nd-Team All-SWAC. 3,231 yards, 30 TDs, 8 INTs.

High School: 4-star recruit from Trinity Christian (TX). Passed for 12,627 yards and 166 TDs. Won a national championship as a senior.

Shedeur Sanders' Combine Results

  • Height: 6-1 1/2 | Weight: 212 | Arms: 31 1/2 | Hands: 9 3/8
  • 40-yard Dash: DNP | 10-yard Split: DNP | Vertical Jump: DNP
  • Broad Jump: DNP | 3-Cone: DNP | 20-yard Shuttle: DNP | Bench Press: DNP

"Any perceptions that Sanders is a product of Heisman Trophy-winner Travis Hunter's greatness are slowly dispelled once you hit the tape. He's seen mixed results under an intensely bright spotlight, but there are no signs his confidence has ever wavered. Sanders possesses a baseline of poise, savvy and accuracy, traits that are integral in becoming an NFL starter. He's slow-twitch with standard arm talent and a longer release, but he worked around those limitations with anticipation and accuracy. He plays with decent command from the pocket and finds his rhythm when working on-time and on-platform; that said, he will pass on profits and look for the big play too often. Average velocity and slower rip times mean tighter windows against faster athletes, so throwing off-platform or trying to do more than his arm talent allows is ill-advised. He's tough and willing to take the hit to complete the throw once he's locked into his target. Sanders is pocket mobile and finds clean alternate launch points, but he often creates pressure and sacks with undisciplined pocket drops. The tape says he has the necessary qualities to become a solid game manager if he can operate with better discipline and play to his strengths."

LSU offensive lineman Will Campbell (66) gets ready to run a play against Arkansas during an NCAA college football game Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, in Fayetteville, Ark.

Field Yates' latest mock draft has the Saints drafting Will Campbell, offensive lineman from LSU.

"While I am a firm believer that Campbell has the goods to be a starting left tackle in the NFL, I also believe he can really thrive at guard if the team that picks him believes he's better suited there. He has 32⅝-inch arms, which isn't ideal length for a true tackle. Regardless of position, Campbell has the best footwork of any offensive lineman in the class. Here, he would stay home in the state where he played his high school and college ball, and he'd immediately become a cornerstone player for a Saints team in need of them."

Will Campbell's Career Overview

2024: 1st-Team Associated Press All-American, 1st-Team All-SEC. Shared the SEC Jacobs Blocking Trophy with Texas LT Kelvin Banks. Finalist for the Lombardi Award (nation's top OL/DL). Started 12 games at LT but did not play in the team's Texas Bowl win over Baylor. PFF: had a streak of 27 straight games without allowing a sack snapped late in the season.

2023: 1st-Team All-SEC. Started all 13 games at LT. Team was a Joe Moore Award finalist (nation's top OL). Wore the traditional #7 patch, symbolizing the most impactful Louisiana-born player on the roster. PFF: 0 sacks allowed on 470 pass-blocking snaps.

2022: 2nd-Team All-SEC, Freshman All-American, Freshman All-SEC Team. Started 13 games at LT as a true freshman after enrolling early in January.

High School: Top 50 overall recruit from Neville High School (LA). Earned a starting role as a freshman due to an injury and never relinquished it.

Misc: Father, Brian, played football at East Texas State (now Texas A&M-Commerce). Ranked No. 32 on Bruce Feldman's 2024 College Football Freaks List for The Athletic—recorded 17.9 mph on GPS (top OL max velocity in 2023), 600 squat, and 1.57 10-yard split.

Will Campbell's Combine Results

  • Height: 6-6 | Weight: 319 | Arms: 32 5/8 | Hands: 9 1/2
  • 40-yard Dash: 4.98 | 10-yard Split: 1.76 | Vertical Jump: 32
  • Broad Jump: 9-5 | 3-Cone: DNP | 20-yard Shuttle: DNP | Bench Press: DNP

"Athletic left tackle prospect who's durable and battle-tested but has elements of high risk, high reward in his game. Campbell is a thumping run blocker who can clear out B-gaps with forceful down blocks and displace base blocks with his "strike and run" technique. He struggles to win laterally, though. He will lunge and miss against stunts and movement. Campbell operates with good athleticism and agility in pass protection but is way too leaky against inside moves. He has a jarring, heavy punch and can latch in to control the rep. However, he has short arms and when he's beaten to first action, the footwork and technique go out the window, forcing him to scramble and survive to save the pocket. His play is determined, spirited and aggressive, which works in his favor, but Campbell must learn to vary his pass-set technique and operate with optimal hand timing in order to thrive at tackle instead of being moved to guard."

Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker (11) sacks TCU quarterback Max Duggan (15) during the second half of the national championship NCAA College Football Playoff game, Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, in Inglewood, Calif.
Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker (11) sacks TCU quarterback Max Duggan (15) during the second half of the national championship NCAA College Football Playoff game, Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, in Inglewood, Calif.

Steven Cheah's latest mock draft has the Saints drafting Jalon Walker, edge from Georgia.

"The Saints defense needs a facelift and Jalon Walker is a very interesting piece that can rush off the EDGE or play standup linebacker. But with 11.5 sacks the past two seasons, they will likely use him primarily at EDGE."

Jalon Walker's Career Overview

2024: 3rd-Team Associated Press All-American, 2nd-Team All-SEC. Won the Butkus Award as the nation's top linebacker. Led the team with 10.5 tackles for loss (TFL) and tied for the team lead with 6.5 sacks. PFF: Led the team with 28 quarterback pressures. Played in all 14 games with 11 starts and contributed on punt coverage teams throughout the season. Lined up for 420 career snaps at inside linebacker and 441 snaps as an edge rusher.

2023: Led the team with five sacks. Played in all 14 games as a reserve. Elected as Georgia's SEC Leadership Council representative after just one year with the program.

2022: Played in all 15 games as a reserve and contributed on special teams for Georgia's national championship team.

High School: 4-star recruit, ranked among the top five linebackers nationally. 2020 North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year. Finalist for the 2021 High School Butkus Award as the nation's top linebacker. Lettered in basketball and track, excelling in triple jump and long jump.

Miscellaneous: Father, Curtis, was an All-American linebacker at Catawba College and coached at the college and high school levels for decades. Brother, Curtis Jr. ("Deuce"), plays cornerback at Georgia State. Jalon enjoys fashion, designer clothes, singing, and has ventured into voice acting, narrating an SEC Network "It Just Means More" commercial.

Jalon Walker's Combine Results

  • Height: 6-1 | Weight: 243 | Arms: 32 | Hands: 10 1/4
  • 40-yard Dash: DNP | 10-yard Split: DNP | Vertical Jump: DNP
  • Broad Jump: DNP | 3-Cone: DNP | 20-yard Shuttle: DNP | Bench Press: DNP

"Some see Walker as a "tweener" while others view him as a "hybrid." Either way, Walker can go. His career snap count is split between edge and linebacker, and his leadership is famous in the Georgia building. He's still working to fine-tune his instincts and efficiency as an off-ball linebacker but has the take-on and closing burst to become a productive pro at that spot. He's tough but small as an early down edge rusher, but his athletic talent and suddenness to attack both edges makes him a menace for tackles. The most valuable usage for Walker is likely to come as an early down linebacker who can rush off the edge or match up across the line as a blitzer on passing downs."
