Top 10 Most Mocked Players to Saints (3/24 - 3/30)

1. Will Johnson (CB, Michigan)

Michigan defensive back Will Johnson celebrates after intercepting a pass during the first half of an NCAA college football game against Ohio State, Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

"Within a few months, the New Orleans Saints moved on from Paulson Adebo and traded Marshon Lattimore. Michigan's Will Johnson offers outstanding length for the position at 6-foot-2 and he matches it with smooth movement skills and great instincts. He'll deal with some inconsistency as a rookie, but he can be a high-end No. 1 cornerback at the next level with time." -Matt Johnson

"Some draft analysts have cooled on Will Johnson because of his injuries in 2024, but a turf toe issue shouldn't be a long-term concern. The 2023 tape shows a lockdown cornerback with the size and body control to blanket receivers for all four quarters." -Tyler Brooke

2. Jalon Walker (Edge, Georgia)

Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker (11) sacks TCU quarterback Max Duggan (15) during the second half of the national championship NCAA College Football Playoff game, Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, in Inglewood, Calif.

"Jalon Walker might be my favorite prospect in this draft, and I find it hard to place him anywhere outside of the top 10. Because of that, I have him landing with the Saints. Walker is listed as a linebacker, but he plays more as a hybrid kind of guy. He splits time between linebacker and edge rusher, and it feels like NFL squads might value him more off the edge. While he is slightly small for a traditional edge rusher, he has the drive to attack the ball through blocks. Walker is going to be an elite player in the NFL, it just depends on which position he does it at." -David Scott

"Walker is a true hybrid athlete with the athleticism to stick at off-ball linebacker and the burst and length to rush the passer off the edge. It'll be up to new Saints defensive coordinator Brandon Staley to decide how best to deploy him as New Orleans transitions from years of Dennis Allen's system." - Ayrton Ostly

3. Will Campbell (OT, LSU)

LSU offensive lineman Will Campbell (66) celebrates with fans who stormed the field after an NCAA college football game against Alabama in Baton Rouge, La., Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022. LSU won 32-31 in overtime.

"New Orleans is showing heavy interest in the 2025 QB class, but I can't see them using the No. 9 pick on one unless Ward or Sanders falls. Instead, they'll address a need on the offensive line. New Orleans needs help at multiple spots, so let's give them the best overall offensive lineman in the class—yes, I still feel this way despite his arm length—and see where he sticks. I would be shocked if he isn't at minimum a high-level guard for the Saints, but I'd start him at tackle first." - Jaime Eisner

"A lot has been made about Will Campbell's historically short arm length and wingspan, which the former LSU standout called "B.S." after his pro day. He started nearly 40 games at left tackle during his three-year career with the Tigers and earned consensus All-America honors this past season. I wouldn't doubt Campbell being able to play NFL offensive tackle at a high level but even if he moves to guard, he'll be an integral part of the Saints' line for a decade." - Kyle Stackpole

4. Tyler Warren (TE, Penn State)

Penn State tight end Tyler Warren (44) plays against Villanova during an NCAA college football game in State College, Pa., on Saturday, Sept.25, 2021.

"Copilot called Warren a "do-it-all tight end" and noted he would be a big-time upgrade for New Orleans' offense. No player on the Saints had more than 548 receiving yards last season, so perhaps adding Warren would be a creative way to create more open space for Chris Olave." - Jacob Camenker

"...Finding more weapons for Kellen Moore's passing game is key. Warren offers a reliable target (Big Ten-leading 104 receptions) with yards-after-the-catch prowess. There are no qualms here if the Saints choose a cornerback or front-seven defensive upgrade instead." - Ben Standig

5. Tetairoa McMillan (WR, Arizona)

### Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan breaks free of Washington cornerback Davon Banks and run for a touchdown during the first half of an NCAA football game, Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, in Seattle.

"Saints defensive end Cam Jordan went on social media and noted that Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Tetairoa McMillan would be a problematic trio for opponents. Shaheed and Olave are both returning from injury." - Josh Edwards

"The 6-foot-4, 219-pound McMillan eclipsed 1,300 receiving yards each of the past two years, and he has tremendous ball skills. He and Olave would pair well together for quarterback Derek Carr." - Daniel Flick

6. Shedeur Sanders (QB, Colorado)

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders (2) in the second half of an NCAA college football game Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, in Boulder, Colo.

"With Shedeur Sanders falling down the draft, the New Orleans Saints don't have to trade up and land the quarterback at No. 9. Kellen Moore gets his eventual franchise quarterback with the pick." - Zack Pearson

"As an offensive-minded coach, it wouldn't be surprising to see (Kellen Moore) take his quarterback of the future. Enter Shedeur Sanders. Sanders is the most accurate passer in this class and has the mobility to extend plays. While some question his arm strength, pairing him with Chris Olave could ease those concerns early in his career. Sanders' biggest hurdle will be handling pressure, as he tends to hold onto the ball too long and sometimes moves into pressure instead of away from it."

7. Mykel Williams (Edge, Georgia)

Georgia defensive lineman Mykel Williams (13) in the first half of a NCAA college football game against Vanderbilt Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022 in Athens, Ga.

"Williams is an explosive pass rusher with all the traits needed to become one of the league's elite. His combination of speed and power is impressive, but it's his ability to bend, collapse his frame, and establish leverage that sets him apart. Whether using savvy moves or overwhelming offensive linemen with a powerful bull rush, he's a dynamic talent. Williams is simply too talented for the Saints to pass on as they look to bolster their foundation in this rebuild." - Reese Decker

"Williams graded positively on 21.3% of run plays over his last two seasons at Georgia. He is a long, strong, versatile edge prospect whose motor is always running hot. His pass-rush profile and consistency (win percentage) are lower than ideal for a projected top-20 pick, but his floor as an elite run defender is so high, and his build is so alluring, that he's worth taking the chance on in that range for a team running odd or even fronts." - Josh Liskiewitz

8. Armand Membou (OT, Missouri)

Missouri offensive lineman Armand Membou (79) sets up at the line of scrimmage during the first half of an NCAA college football game against Alabama, Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

"Drafting OT Taliese Fuaga last year, Saints GM Mickey Loomis began a rebuild of the offensive line. In this mock draft, Loomis selects Missouri's Armand Membou and inserts him at RT." - Drafttek Staff

"Super-athletic, versatile piece. If he can make the transition to guard, he could round out a strong O-line in New Orleans." - Dan Roche

9. Jahdae Barron (CB, Texas)

Texas defensive back Jahdae Barron (7) celebrates a defensive play against Arizona State during the first half in the quarterfinals of a College Football Playoff, Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, in Atlanta.

"Jahdae Barron is one of the fastest risers in the pre-draft process and significantly improved his stock after the NFL Combine. Primarily a nickel with the Longhorns, Barron proved that he has enough speed and athleticism to survive outside on the boundary at the NFL level." - Brentley Weissman

10. Shemar Stewart (Edge, Texas A&M)

Texas A&M defensive lineman Shemar Stewart (4) tackles Mississippi State quarterback Michael Van Buren Jr. (0) during the second half of an NCAA college football game on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, in Starkville, Miss. Texas A&M won 34-24. (AP Photo/Randy J. Williams)

"I could see new head coach Kellen Moore wanting to continue attacking the offensive line, but Stewart will be an enticing edge talent who can eventually take Cam Jordan's spot. Stewart's college production was disappointing, but he has star traits." -Eric Edholm
