Top 10 Most Mocked Players to Saints (3/17 - 3/23)

1. Will Johnson (CB, Michigan)

Michigan defensive back Will Johnson celebrates after intercepting a pass during the first half of an NCAA college football game against Ohio State, Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Johnson's injuries, including a hamstring issue that forced him to miss Michigan's pro day, could push him down some draft boards, but the Saints have a major need at cornerback after trading away Marshon Lattimore last season. The former Wolverine was widely viewed as a top-five prospect entering the 2024 season because of his rare combination of size (6-foot-1 3/4, 194 pounds) and instincts on the outside. He is still top-10 worthy if New Orleans is satisfied with his medical reports. -Chad Reuter

2. Tetairoa McMillan (WR, Arizona)

Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan breaks free of Washington cornerback Davon Banks and run for a touchdown during the first half of an NCAA football game, Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, in Seattle.

The New Orleans Saints have had a solid offseason so far, but one area they have not really addressed is their offensive skill positions. Bringing back Juwan Johnson and signing Brandin Cooks are smart moves but do not suddenly take this offense up a gear. Adding another playmaker at wide receiver needs to be a priority. Tetairoa McMillan is the most versatile of the projected first-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. He can line up all over the field and succeed in several roles, whether on the outside, in the slot, over the middle of the field, or in the red zone. -Ben Rolfe

3. Will Campbell (OT, LSU)

LSU offensive lineman Will Campbell (66) celebrates with fans who stormed the field after an NCAA college football game against Alabama in Baton Rouge, La., Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022. LSU won 32-31 in overtime.

The Saints could use either a tackle or a guard and I went with Membou in our previous mock draft. With Membou's stock on the rise, Campbell still feels like an easy pick. Right tackle would appear to be the spot for Campbell. The Saints possess numerous holes throughout the roster for new coach Kellen Moore so the best player available at almost any position here would benefit this team. -Larry Holder

4. Mykel Williams (Edge, Georgia)

Georgia defensive lineman Mykel Williams (13) in the first half of a NCAA college football game against Vanderbilt Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022 in Athens, Ga.
Georgia defensive lineman Mykel Williams (13) in the first half of a NCAA college football game against Vanderbilt Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022 in Athens, Ga.

Williams is an explosive edge rusher with all the tools to become one of the league's elite. His combination of speed and power is impressive, but his ability to bend, stay low, and establish leverage sets him apart. Whether he's using finesse moves or overwhelming blockers with a bull rush, he's a dynamic talent. Williams is simply too good for the Saints to pass up as they build for the future. -Reese Decker

5. Tyler Warren (TE, Penn State)

Penn State tight end Tyler Warren (44) plays against Villanova during an NCAA college football game in State College, Pa., on Saturday, Sept.25, 2021.

Former Chargers and Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is now the head coach of the Saints and that leads me to believe he'll look to immediately improve the 21st-ranked offense. Having a dual threat running back in Alvin Kamara and a budding receiver in Chris Olave is a good start, so let's go ahead and round out that grouping with the draft's top tight end in Warren. Mr. Everything from Penn State could learn a thing or two from Taysom Hill, a guy who's been doing exactly that in New Orleans for the past seven years. - Michael Peterson

6. Armand Membou (OT, Missouri)

Missouri offensive lineman Armand Membou (79) sets up at the line of scrimmage during the first half of an NCAA college football game against Alabama, Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Missouri offensive lineman Armand Membou (79) sets up at the line of scrimmage during the first half of an NCAA college football game against Alabama, Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

At pick nine, the Saints take Armand Membou, who could be both a guard and a tackle at the NFL level. This is a sound selection for the Saints, and Membou could be an instant hit at the NFL. With how weak the NFC South is, I guess New Orleans could realistically compete for the division crown in the 2025 NFL Season. -Lou Scataglia

7. Jalon Walker (Edge, Georgia)

Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker (11) sets up for a play against Alabama during the second half of an NCAA college football game, Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

The Saints aren't usually in a position to be able to land Jalon Walker in our 2025 NFL mock draft scenarios but this would present them with a very fun scenario. The top two tight ends are still on the board, the top receivers are still on the board, and the top tackles are on the board. Maybe the Saints would be an ideal trade down team to watch for. Getting Jalon Walker gives them more weapons in the pass rush department, either way. -Sayre Bedinger

8. Ashton Jeanty (RB, Boise State)

Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty (2) runs with the ball against San Diego State defense in the first half of an NCAA college football game, Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, in Boise, Idaho. Boise State won 35-13.

The Saints have plenty of needs on both sides of the ball, but the idea of pairing Ashton Jeanty with Alvin Kamara for a year would be too good to pass up. It also doesn't hurt that new head coach Kellen Moore is a Boise State alum. Moore is expected to design a balanced offense in New Orleans, and selecting Jeanty would be a good sign that he intends to run the ball early and often with the Saints. -Marcus Mosher

9. Jaxson Dart (QB, Ole Miss)

American team quarterback Jaxson Dart, center, of Mississippi, throws a pass during the first half of the Senior Bowl NCAA college football game against the National team Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, in Mobile, Ala.

I'm hearing more and more first-round buzz on Dart, and New Orleans seems like a good fit. He wouldn't be forced to play right away and could learn behind Carr. This team still has a lot of roster-building decisions to make, but getting the QB of the future now does make some sense. Dart was very accurate in Lane Kiffin's run-pass option offense at Ole Miss, and he can cause headaches for opposing defensive coordinators with his ability to tuck and run. Dart threw for 4,279 yards and rushed for 655 more last season. -Mel Kiper

10. Kelvin Banks Jr. (OT, Texas)

Texas offensive lineman Kelvin Banks Jr. (78) sets up to block against Arkansas during the first half of an NCAA college football game Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, in Fayetteville, Ark.
Texas offensive lineman Kelvin Banks Jr. (78) sets up to block against Arkansas during the first half of an NCAA college football game Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, in Fayetteville, Ark.

The Saints brought in Kellen Moore as the new head coach. His last two stops as an offensive coordinator featured elite offensive line groups.
