The fourth Black and Gold Gala, presented by Chevron and Payton's Play It Forward Foundation (PPIF), will take place on Friday, Oct. 2 on the field of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
This year's event will feature a performance by GRAMMY® award-winner and former Hootie and the Blowfish front man Darius Rucker.
Through the 2015 Black and Gold Gala, Payton's Play It Forward Foundation is continuing its mission of raising money and awareness for organizations dedicated to the health, education and social welfare of the local community, particularly veterans and families of veterans in need. This year's beneficiaries will include Feed the Children, K-9's for Warriors and the Gleason Initiative Foundation.
"This our fourth Black and Gold Gala and each time we try to find something a bit more unique to make the event special," Saints Head Coach Sean Payton said. "This year will be no different. We are excited to have Darius Rucker join us. It will be a great night but most importantly we will enjoy it even better knowing that all of the funds raised that night go to great causes that will have immediate and direct impacts. That is what is most important."
The 2015 Black and Gold Gala is presented by Chevron - whose commitment to our community continues to benefit the health and education of children and families in areas where its employees live and work. In its first year as the title sponsor, Chevron is working to build on the successes of the 2013 PPIF Black and Gold Gala, which raised $920,000 for charities in Gulf Coast area.
"Chevron is a great corporate partner not only to this event but with many events and causes in our community," added Payton. "We are very proud of our association with Chevron."
"Chevron appreciates opportunities to partner with organizations that make major impacts in the lives of local families and children, such as Payton's Play It Forward Foundation," said Chevron Gulf of Mexico Vice President Mike Illanne. "The 2015 Black and Gold Gala will give the public a chance to celebrate, while making a difference in the lives of veterans and improving education in the greater New Orleans area."
Through partnerships with companies like Chevron, Payton's Play It Forward Foundation hosts events and sponsorships to support organizations fighting at the forefront for Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi families and children in need.
