Saints and Louisiana Lottery Team Up Again in 2010

BATON ROUGE – The New Orleans Saints aren't the only ones hoping for a repeat of last season. The Louisiana Lottery Corporation will once again launch a team-branded scratch-off game after last year's version flew off retailer shelves to become its best performing $5 game ever. The World Champions New Orleans Saints scratch-off game will hit Lottery retailers Aug. 2.

The Lottery will again offer coveted home game ticket prize packages and even more autographed merchandise prizes through a series of four second-chance drawings associated with the scratch-off game. World Champions New Orleans Saints will feature three different ticket scenes and a top instant cash prize of $100,000.

"Due to the wildly successful Saints scratch-off in 2009 as well as the team's surge in popularity as world champions, we know players are eagerly awaiting the new 2010 scratch-off game," said Lottery President Rose Hudson. "Last year's game was one of the highest indexing professional football team branded tickets launched by state lotteries!"

Because of that, the Lottery will print 66 percent more tickets this year for a total of 1.5 million.

Four second-chance drawings will involve a total of 31 winners. During the first three drawings, one winner will receive a 2010 Saints Prize Package to include four Club Sideline tickets to a designated Saints home game with VIP Clubroom access, a parking pass, four pre-game field passes, one night hotel accommodation (two rooms), a $200 dinner allotment and $500 spending cash. Also in each of the first three drawings, nine finalists will receive an official autographed Saints jersey, football or helmet. Three of each will be given away in drawings 1, 2 and 3.

During the fourth and final drawing, one winner will receive a Saints 2011 Season Prize Package to include four Plaza Sideline season tickets, a parking pass, four pre-game field passes, tour of the Saints practice facility and lunch with the Saints head coach for up to four people.

The Lottery renewed its sponsorship agreement with the Saints in June, and the second-chance drawing prizes were provided to the Lottery as part of that agreement.

"When you combine two great Louisiana brands known for fun and excitement, you have a winning combination," said Hudson. "Like the Saints, we're looking for another winning season and believe the World Champions New Orleans Saints scratch-off will be a sell out!"

To enter the second-chance drawings, players should complete the information on the back of nonwinning $5 World Champions New Orleans Saints scratch-off tickets and mail one ticket per envelope (no larger than 4.5" by 9.5") to the address printed on the back of the ticket. Players can enter as many times as they wish, but each entry should be mailed in separate envelopes.

Entry deadlines and associated game ticket prizes are as follows:

Drawing 1 – Aug. 30, 2010 (2010 Saints Prize Package includes tickets to Saints vs. Atlanta game on Sept. 26)

Drawing 2 – Sept. 27, 2010 (2010 Saints Prize Package includes tickets to Saints vs. Cleveland game on Oct. 24)

Drawing 3 – Nov. 8, 2010 (2010 Saints Prize Package includes tickets to Saints vs. St. Louis game on Dec. 12)

*The entry deadline for the fourth and final drawing for the Saints 2011 Season Prize Package will be announced on the Lottery's website once the game is closed. The Louisiana Lottery is solely responsible for conducting and administering the scratch-off game and related second-chance drawings. Complete game and second-chance drawing entry rules can be found on the Lottery's website, www.louisianalottery.com.

Lottery ticket purchasers and second-chance drawing entrants must be at least 21 years of age. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, help is available by calling 1-877-770-7867. For security purposes, the Lottery encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing.
