Instead of getting instructed on defensive assignments by Saints coaches, Clancy got to do a little coaching of his own.
Clancy visited Faith Lutheran School in Harahan as part of the Saints Junior Training Camp program, a clinic that teaches elementary school kids basic football skills while at the same time instilling courage, tips for success and character building.
"It's tough to work hard and study now when you are in school because the temptation is there to relax or party. But striving toward a degree and putting in the effort now will pay off in the long run," Clancy preached to the students.
After the brief talk, Clancy showed the kids a few of his defensive line moves as he supervised the Sack the QB drill, and later admitted he has just as much fun at the camp as the students did.
"I just want to thank the teachers and volunteers for having me out today. I don't know who had more fun, me or the kids," he said.
