New Orleans Saints safety Tyrann Mathieu was selected as the recipient of the 2025 Excellence in Mentoring Award. Mathieu will receive his award at the 2025 Mentoring Summit hosted by MENTOR in Washington, D.C., from Jan. 29-31.

"Making a difference is not assigned to one type of person, group, or profession. It is a universal calling," MENTOR CEO Jermaine Myrie said in a statement. "And with this year's group of EIM winners, we see people from all walks of life answering the call - a call to mentor, a call to make a difference in the lives of those seen and unseen. We congratulate and uplift this year's EIM honorees for working in their respective communities each and every day to create healthy mentoring relationships that power opportunities for all."

Mathieu is the second Saints player to receive this honor as Saints legend Marques Colston was a recipient in 2023.

Mathieu has continued the community work of the Tyrann Mathieu Foundation that he created in 2017 including hosting his annual Tyrann's Turkeys and Heart of a Badger youth skills camp. He has served as an ambassador to the Son of a Saint organization since 2023.

The Saints safety was selected as the team's Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee for 2023 and was also named a Community Champion by the Super Bowl LIX Host committee.

Being honored alongside Mathieu are Corporate Youth Leadership honoree Alex Saadé, Impactful Philanthropy honorees Sureel and Bijal Choksi, Lifetime Achievement honoree Duncan Campbell, Public Service (State & Local) honoree Memphis Mayor Paul Young, Public Service (Federal) honoree U.S. Senate Majority Whip, Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), and Posthumous Public Elevation honoree Chauncy Glover.
