Saints Gameday Inactives and Lineup Changes

Smith to miss first game since 2006

The New Orleans Saints will have several lineup changes today when they face the Arizona Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium at 3:05.

Offensively, as previously reported RBs Reggie Bush (fibula) and Pierre Thomas (ankle) will be inactive. Ladell Betts and Chris Ivory will again shoulder the load. Rookie T Charles Brown and TE Tory Humphrey will also be inactive.

Defensively, CB Tracy Porter will miss the contest as previously reported following surgery on his meniscus this week. CB Randall Gay, Rookie Patrick Robinson and CB Leigh Torrence are candidates to start in his place. De Will Smith (groin) will also miss his first contest since the 2006 season. Candidates to take his place are Jeff Charleston, Junior Galette, Anthony Hargrove and Jimmy Wilkerson. LB Anthony Waters is also inactive.

On special teams, K John Carney will handle kicking duties for the second consecutive week with Garrett Hartley inactive. Carney will appear in the 302nd NFL game of his career, tying him with Hall of Fame wideout Jerry Rice for fifth-place on the NFL's all-time games played list.

 The Cardinals have one starter inactive in WR Steve Breaston who is recovering from knee surgery. Stephen Williams takes his place. John Skelton is the third quarterback and S Matt Ware, CB Trumaine McBride, C Ben Claxton, WR Early Doucet, DE Kenny Iwebema and LB Alex Hall are also inactive.
