The New Orleans Saints hosted a HSPD regional seven-on-seven high school passing tournament at their training facility in Metairie Saturday. The tournament, in which ten Louisiana high schools participated, was won by Capitol High School from Baton Rouge after they defeated Edna Karr in the final game. Capitol will now represent the Saints and the city of New Orleans in the HSPD National Championship, when high school teams from several NFL markets convene to determine who the best in the country is. The National Championship will take place July 11 through 12 at the Saints training facility.

HSPD, which stands for High School Player Development, is a program initiated by the NFL which assists high school players around the country in learning the fundamentals and proper techniques of playing football.
