Saints Postgame Notes

*The Saints are now 1-1 in the preseason. They will immediately fly to Oxnard, California where they will conduct their final week of training camp and will then play the Oakland Raiders in a nationally televised (NBC) contest on Sunday night. Kickoff is 7 p.m.

*For the second consecutive week, QB Drew Brees played three series. Brees drove the Saints into the red zone twice, the second time the Saints scoring on a one-yard run by RB Mark Ingram. Brees completed 7-of-14 passes for 109 yards, with his longest play a 43-yard throw to WR Robert Meachem.

*QB Chase Daniel entered the game in the second quarter for the Saints and immediately made the most of his opportunity, bringing the Saints into the end zone on three plays, following a 56-yard touchdown pass to WR Joseph Morgan. Daniel finished 6 of 14 for 127 yards with the touchdown throw to Morgan and one interception.

*New Orleans' first unit of running backs enjoyed a productive evening. Pierre Thomas started and carried 6 times for a team-best 33 yards, including a 13-yard scamper on the first offensive play of the game. Rookie RB Mark Ingram carried 7 times for 25 yards and pushed the ball into the end zone on a second quarter fourth-and-one play, scoring a rushing touchdown for the second conseucutive week.

*WR Joseph Morgan had the longest play from scrimmage for the Saints in the game and for the entire preseason. The rookie took a throw up the middle from QB Chase Daniel in the second quarter and turned it into a 56-yard touchdown.

*DE Turk McBride finished with two solo tackles and had a second quarter sack of Houston QB Matt Schaub for a loss of four yards.

*CB Jabari Greer led the New Orleans defense with six tackles.
