It has been announced that the New Orleans Saints will open up the 2010 NFL regular season by hosting the Minnesota Vikings in the Louisiana Superdome on Thursday, September 9 at 7:35 p.m. (CT). The game will be broadcast by NBC.
The NFL's kickoff game, which will feature extensive pregame entertainment in the area surrounding the Superdome will comprise a rematch of the 2009 NFC Championship Game where the Saints defeated the Minnesota Vikings 31-28 in an overtime thriller capped by K Garrett Hartley's 40-yard field goal. The win catapulted New Orleans into Super Bowl XLIV.
