Second quarter update: The New Orleans Saints overcame a second missed field-goal attempt and some tough defense by the Buffalo Bills to take a 21-10 lead into halftime on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
The Bills scored their first touchdown of the game on a 13-yard pass from Thad Lewis to Stevie Johnson with 10:44 to play in the period. The Saints answered when quarterback Drew Brees hit rookie Kenny Stills on a 69-yard touchdown pass down the lefdt sideline.
Then Brees led the Saints on another scoring drive at the end of the period capped by a 15-yard TD pass to Jimmy Graham, the team's star tight end who was questionable to even play in the game.
The Saints' defense had three sacks and two forced turnovers in the opening half.
