First-quarter update: Travaris Cadet's 3-yard touchdown reception gave the New Orleans Saints a 7-3 lead against the New England Patriots on Sunday at Gillette Stadium.

The Patriots scored on their opening drive on a 35-yard Stephen Gostowski field goal. It capped a 14-play, 60-yard drive.

Key stats:Drew Brees, 5 of 8, 73 yards, one touchdown. Darren Sproles, four carries for 11 yards, one cathc for nine yards. Patriots, Tom Brady, 8 of 11 for 90 yards. Andre Dobson, three catches for 48 yards.
