Statement From the NFL Regarding DE Will Smith

STATEMENT BY AN NFL SPOKESPERSON:

Will Smith of the New Orleans Saints has been suspended without pay for the team's first two games of the 2011 regular season and fined an additional two games checks for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.

Smith's suspension begins on Saturday, September 3. He will be eligible to return to the Saints' active roster on Monday, September 19 following the team's September 18 game against the Chicago Bears.
