Support Steve Gleason for Vine of the Year

Former New Orleans Saints safety Steven Gleason posted a Vine of how he tweets with his eyes during the NFL wildcard weekend

New Orleans Saints fans on Twitter – vote for Steve Gleason for the Vine of the Year at the 6th Annual Shorty Awards.

Gleason posted a vine of how he tweets with his eyes on Jan. 1.

Fans can vote for Steve here. Be creative with the reason. A tweet without a reason will not count. Or you can vote by just tweeting:

I nominate https://vine.co/v/hVFd3alu1Wi for a Shorty Award in #vineoftheyear because Steve Gleason is inspiring http://bit.ly/1kpvATA

Voting ends on Feb. 18 and the winners will be announced at the 6th Annual Shorty Awards on April 7th at TheTimesCenter at the New York Times building in New York City.

Gleason tweets with his eyes using his wheelchair mounted computer. Along with tweeting, Gleason speaks through a synthetic voice, reads and responds to email, plays iTunes and surfs the Internet with just his eyes.

The Vine was used to help promote Gleason as NBC’s guest social media analyst for the Saints NFC Wild Card game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Jan. 4.

On the day of the Saints-Eagles game, Gleason's Twitter account (@TeamGleason) gained 21,719 and another 2,533 the day after.
