The Interstate 10 West on-ramp from West Stadium Drive (West side of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome) will be closed for the next two to four months in order to complete the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development's highway construction project which involves the I-10 ramp.
During this time, New Orleans Saints patrons should plan to take alternate routes when traveling West from this area. The closure will affect only the egress patterns from this area and will leave ingress unaffected.
Alternate routes when exiting the area toward I-10 West include:
If exiting from Garage 1:
- Poydras Street to LaSalle Street to Tulane Avenue to I-10 West at Carrollton Avenue.
- Poydras Street to Baronne St.reet to Calliope Street to I-10 West.
If exiting from Garage 2, Champions Garage, Lot 3 or Lot 3A:
- Dave Dixon Drive to Loyola Avenue to I-10 West.
If exiting from Lot 4:
- Cypress Street to Julia Street to S. Galvez Street to Tulane Avenue to I-10 West at Carrollton Avenue.
- Cypress Street to Julia Street to I-10 West slip ramp which will be activated for Saints games until the completion of construction.
- Upon exiting Lot 4 onto Dave Dixon Drive to access I-10 West, if you are in the left lane, you will be directed to the I-10 West slip ramp from Julia Street. If you are in the right lane, you will be directed to Cypress Street to Tulane Avenue where you can access I-10 West at Carrollton Avenue.
If exiting from Garage 5:
- Cypress Street to Julia Street to S. Galvez Street to Tulane Avenue to I-10 West at Carrollton Avenue.
- Cypress Street to Julia Street to I-10 West slip ramp which will be activated for Saints games until the completion of construction.
- Upon exiting Garage 5 onto Dave Dixon Drive to access I-10 West, if you are in the left lane, you will be directed to the I-10 West slip ramp from Julia Street. If you are in the right lane, you will be directed to Cypress Street to Tulane Avenue where you can access I-10 West at Carrollton Avenue.
If exiting from Garage 6:
- Poydras Street (Lake Bound) via Clara Street to I-10 West from the Poydras Street on-ramp.
Patrons attending Saints game days at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and Champions Square during this time should prepare for egress to be impacted and should expect delays. SMG will coordinate with the NOPD for additional officers to be present during egress periods to mitigate the traffic congestion.
