Leading up to the team's preseason home opener on Aug. 25, the New Orleans Saints will be unveiling the final updates of the Caesars Superdome's dynamic $560 million transformation, strategically aimed at enhancing the facility's fan experience. The team has proudly committed nearly $180 million toward the $560 million project. The collaborative project funded by the New Orleans Saints, Louisiana Stadium & Exposition District (LSED), and the State of Louisiana has progressed over a five-year period through the work of a team of architects, contractors, designers and construction workers operating around the clock in order to reach its completion by the start of the 2024 Saints season. Saints season ticketholders and their guests will be the first to experience the remarkable evolution of the facility prior to the building hosting the National Football League's showcase event, Super Bowl LIX, on Feb., 9, 2025, the year which will also be the 50th anniversary of the stadium.
The purpose of the Caesars Superdome transformation project is to preserve the character of the building's iconic exterior, while elevating its overall functionality and the gameday experience for all guests. These modernizations bring the facility in line with stadiums being built and renovated across the world, thus keeping the storied home of the Saints and the city of New Orleans as ideal hosts for the upcoming and future Super Bowls, as well as numerous national and international events for decades to come. Equally as important, the Caesars Superdome will continue to serve as a source of great civic pride while providing a significant economic impact for the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana.
Significant back-of-house upgrades create transformed food and beverage service at the Caesars Superdome
As part of the completion of the Caesars Superdome's $560 million transformation, New Orleans Saints fans will now enjoy enhanced food and beverage experience like never before thanks to important back-of-house upgrades. The New Orleans Saints, in conjunction with Caesars Superdome's official food and beverage management team, Sodexo Live!, will proudly introduce concession enhancements throughout the stadium in 2024 to benefit all guests.
The future is here
The Caesars Superdome transformation project has brought groundbreaking changes to the back-of-house operations. By introducing cutting-edge technology and innovative systems, the transformation is designed to improve menu options, expand variety, and, most importantly, accelerate the speed of service. This means that fans can expect a wider selection of food and beverages, all delivered with unprecedented efficiency.
One of the most exciting aspects of these upgrades is the overhaul of the stadium's food transportation system. Traditionally, transporting freshly made food items across a vast facility like the Caesars Superdome posed challenges that often led to delays and limited options. The construction of a commissary in 2021, followed by access to four brand-new elevators dedicated to the food and beverage operation to be used for transport address these issues head-on, ensuring that food can be prepared and then delivered quickly and efficiently to every concession area.
Faster, fresher, and more varied
At the heart of this transformation is a significant boost in the speed and availability of food service throughout the Caesars Superdome. With the demolition of the stadium's ramp system, space has been opened up at every level of the stadium that will allow for cooking, storage and preparation at much greater efficiency without delay. The addition of cooking facilities on the suite level will reduce the need for transportation of items and allow for more frequent changeovers throughout the cycle of a gameday. Demolition of the stadium ramps also have created the space for the debut of 18 grab & go "Market Pantry" outlets. Fans will now be able to access fresh food options, both hot and cold, at these locations without waiting in a traditional concession stand line and quickly check out, reducing their time away from the action on the field.
Upgraded food and beverage options
Although back-of-house upgrades, such as the addition of dedicated elevators and investment in infrastructure with the construction of kitchens and storage areas to go with the addition of cutting-edge technology, are not directly visible, consumers will enjoy expanded food options throughout the stadium and fresher food items in a multitude of outlets on each level of the reimagined facility, while making service quicker and more efficient for customers. The expanded food selection includes gameday staples such as hot dogs, chicken tenders, Little Caesars pizza, Tostitos nachos, popcorn and pretzels and Snickers ice cream bars-mixed with local favorites such as Tony Chachere's jambalaya, crawfish pie, Cajun chicken/sausage pasta and shrimp PoBoys, as well as more exotic menu items like Tabasco-infused options, a burnt ends brisket sandwich, Conecuh hickory smoked sausage dog, street tacos, a roast beef debris mac and cheese cup and the Cochon De Lait PoBoy. Fans will also be able to choose from a myriad of healthy and nutritious meals endorsed by Ochsner Health's Eat Fit program. In addition to Coca-Cola products, lemonade and a large beer and wine selection, specialty mixed drinks, mimosas, margaritas and daiquiris are also available.
