Cam Jordan reflects on season | Saints Podcast Rewind

Super Bowl LIX radio row interview recap with Cam Jordan

New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan reflected on the 2024 season on the Saints Podcast on radio row ahead of Super Bowl LIX on Thursday, Feb. 6.

After a 5-12 season, the Saints hired a new head coach, Kellen Moore, but Jordan said that it would have been a different season had the team remained healthy.

"But, here we are. Two losing seasons doesn't sit well with the fans, does not sit well with Mrs. B., Gayle Benson, and things had to change," Jordan said.

Jordan said the team's bad run of injuries was "just an unlucky streak" and "the nature of the game."

"Your marquee players have to be healthy," he said. "If you had a healthy Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, a healthy Taysom Hill the entire season, a healthy Cesar Ruiz, Eric McCoy, … Derek Carr two different times, Alvin Kamara missed three games. I mean if you have all your guys healthy I'd like to put our 11 vs. anybody."

Jordan said the team having to fill the injury gaps made it hard to win games.

"You can't have 80% of your starters gutted, like golly. Which gives me nothing but hope for the future. When I think about how we're going to progress and how we go forward, we have pieces that we want to use."

A new 2025 season gives a fresh start for Jordan and the Saints.

"The best thing about life is life continues. So, you don't have to think about the past, you look forward to the future," Jordan said.
