2014 (Pick No. 20) WR Brandin Cooks from Oregon State

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent wide receiver Brandin Cooks on a two-year contract.

Cooks, 5-10, 190, is an 11-year NFL veteran who was originally selected by the Saints in the first round (20th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Oregon State. In three seasons with New Orleans, Cooks appeared in 42 games with 31 starts, catching 215 passes for 2,861 yards (13.3 avg.) and 20 touchdowns along with 21 rushing attempts for 121 yards (5.8 avg.) and one touchdown.

Cooks has appeared in 158 career games with 144 starts for New Orleans (2014-16), the New England Patriots (2017), Los Angeles Rams (2018-19), Houston Texans (2020-22) and the Dallas Cowboys (2023-24), posting career totals of 710 receptions for 9,532 yards (13.4 avg.) and 60 touchdowns along with 58 rushes for 341 yards (5.9 avg.) and two scores. He has six career 1,000-yard seasons, tied for the fifth-most in the NFL since he was drafted in 2014.

Cooks also has the fifth-most receiving touchdowns of 40 yards-or-more (15) in that span. Despite being traded to four different teams, he and Brandon Marshall are the only players in NFL history to record at least 1,000 receiving yards in a season with four different teams. In 2024, Cooks played in ten games for Dallas with nine starts, catching 26 passes for 259 yards and three touchdowns before being sidelined with a knee injury.

The Stockton, Calif. native played three seasons at Oregon State (2011-13), where he appeared in 38 career games (29 starts) and amassed career totals of 226 receptions for 3,272 receiving yards (14.5 avg.) along with 61 carries for 340 yards. As a junior, Cooks won the Biletnikoff Award, presented annually to the most outstanding receiver in college football, and was named a consensus first-team All-American in his final season with the Beavers after setting school and Pac-12 single-season receiving records, recording 128 catches for 1,730 yards (13.5 avg.) and 16 touchdowns. His 2,019 all-purpose yards ranked second in school history.
