New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis has been named the Week 8 NFLPA Community MVP after he teamed up with to Ashley Furniture to replace every bed in Covenant House New Orleans.

For being named Community MVP, the NFLPA will make a $10,000 donation to the player's foundation or charity of choice.

Davis helped assemble the donated beds on site alongside his wife Tamela Davis as a way to celebrate playing 100 games as a member of the Saints.

"New Orleans means so much to us and our family and so to be able to give back and deliver 100 beds here in the Covenant House, the work they're doing is remarkable," Davis said. "It truly is God's work. When you understand they are taking care of 700 youth per year and they are the only provider of shelter for youth in the state of Louisiana and so to work here, just being here on site with them is amazing."

Covenant House New Orleans is a non-profit that provides immediate and long-term support for young people facing homelessness and survivors of trafficking. They are located on North Rampart Street in the French Quarter. In the past 10 years, the number of youth in Covenant House shelters has grown from 45 to over 170 per night and over 700 young people receive care at Covenant House each year.

"Thank you, NFLPA, for recognizing the work I've done with not only Covenant House, but the work Devoted Dreamers has been doing every year since being founded in 2013," the Saints linebacker said to the NFLPA. "My drive to give back comes from a place of deep empathy and love – knowing that, through service, we can stand in the gap for those who feel forgotten, heal broken spirits and build a legacy of hope."

This is the second time Davis has been honored as an NFLPA Community MVP with the first occasion coming in Week 8 of the 2019 season.

This event is one of many forms of charitable work and community outreach Davis has participated in ranging from his Devoted Dreamers Foundation to his Dinner with the Davises event. He has twice been the Saints nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award.

"It's not just about creating change today, but inspiring a ripple effect of compassion that will open doors and ignite possibilities for generations to come," Davis said. "This work isn't just a mission; it's a calling to leave the world better than we found it."
