New Orleans Saints announce signing of tight end Tom Crabtree

New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton on Wednesday announced the signing of tight end Tom Crabtree. He takes the roster spot that came open when the Saints placed safety Jairus Byrd on injured reserve.

Crabtree is 6 feet 4 and 245 pounds and played at Miami of Ohio. From 2010-2012 he played with the Green Bay Packers, making 15 starts. In 2013 he played seven games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his career he has made 22 catches for 323 yards and five touchdowns.
