Halftime update: New Orleans Saints 6, Los Angeles Rams 0 | 2024 NFL Week 13

Rams will get the ball to start the second half

The New Orleans Saints dominated time of possession but could manage just a 6-0 halftime lead over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome.

The Rams had the ball for a minute and two seconds in the first quarter thanks to a three-and-out and two long Saints drives. But the Saints only got three points as kicker Blake Grupe made a 54-yard field goal on the first drive and missed a 36-yarder on the team's second drive. That drive was kept alive thanks to a penalty on a fake punt attempt. The Rams had the ball for a little more than 11 minutes in the half. Grupe added another 54-yarder with two seconds left in the half.

Running back Alvin Kamara helped control the clock as he had 12 carries for 80 yards. A 12-yard touchdown reception was wiped out by a penalty for illegal man downfield. Kamara needs one receiving touchdown to become the fourth player in NFL history with 50+ rushing touchdowns and 25+ receiving touchdowns in their career (Lenny Moore, Marshall Faulk and Christian McCaffrey).

Quarterback Derek Carr was 15 of 23 passing for 83 yards as the Rams forced him to pass underneath.

Saints defensive tackle Nathan Shepherd had the only sack of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who was held to four of 11 passing for 23 yards. Los Angeles ran for 78 yards.

The Rams (5-6) will get the ball to start the second half.
