The New Orleans Saints grabbed a 7-3 halftime lead over the New York Giants on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
The Saints (4-8) scored on a 8-yard run by running back Kendre Miller in the first quarter. The Giants scored on a 43-yard field goal by Graham Gano.
Defensive tackle Bryan Bresee had a strong first half with a sack and two deflected passes. Drew Lock started at quarterback for the Giants and was zero for eight until connecting with a tight end early in the second quarter.
Saints quarterback Derek Carr was 13 of 19 for 118 while running back Alvin Kamara had 27 yards on 11 carries. Matthew Hayball had four punts in the half, one of which was returned for a touchdown only to be wiped out by a holding call on New York. Kicker Blake Grupe missed a 53-yard field-goal attempt in the first quarter and had a 60-yard attempt blocked as the half ended.
Saints linebacker D'Marco Jackson left with an ankle injury and is questionable to return in the second half.
The Giants (2-10) will get the ball to start the second half.
