Quarterback Derek Carr returned to the lineup after missing the previous three games and helped lead the New Orleans Saints to a 13-10 halftime lead over the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte.
Taysom Hill scored on a 7-yard run in the second quarter, his 30th career rushing touchdown, and Blake Grupe added field goals of 29 and 33 yards.
Star receiver Chris Olave was carted off the field with a head injury and taken to a hospital in the first quarter. Another receiver, Cedrick Wilson, left the game in the second quarter with a shoulder injury.
Running back Alvin Kamara powered the attack with 15 carries for 93 yards and added three receptions for 25 yards. Hill had four carries for 16 yards and caught two passes for 26 yards. Carr was nine of 16 for 132 yards.
The Saints (2-6) are trying to end a six-game losing streak while the Panthers (1-7) are trying to end a five-game losing streak.
The Panthers will get the ball to start the second half.
