Saints D-Coordinator to Host 3 Day Event in Missouri in July with Lombardi Trophy

The Gregg Williams Foundation is pleased to announce a comprehensive three-day series of activities in his hometown of Excelsior Springs, Missouri aimed at generating donations for the continued support and funding to local school programs as well as providing improvements in the Excelsior Springs community. This year's event will begin on Wednesday, July 7th and will conclude on Friday, July 9th.

This year's events will be highlighted by the presence of the New Orleans Saints' Lombardi Trophy, which the team won on February 7, 2010 with their thrilling 31-17 victory over the AFC champion Indianapolis Colts. The trophy will be available for photo opportunities at all of the foundation's events held in 2010.

The foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in December 2004, is named for Gregg Williams, a 1976 Excelsior Springs High School graduate who was a record-breaking Tiger athlete in basketball, baseball, and football, was a former ESSD coach and teacher, a 2006 Excelsior Springs Hall of Fame inductee, and is presently Defensive Coordinator of the Super Bowl XLIV World Champion New Orleans Saints.

On Wednesday (July 7th), the Excelsior Springs Tigers Hall of Fame Induction will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a dinner and the induction ceremony commencing at 7:00 p.m. The dinner and induction ceremony will be held at the Excelsior Springs High School, which is located at 612 Lynn Road, Excelsior Springs, Missouri. The foundation will continue its activities on Thursday (July 8th) at 4:30 p.m. when a reception for golfers who will be participating in the 2010 Gregg Williams Tiger Classic. The reception will be held at the Elms Resort and Spa, which is located at 401 Regent Street in Excelsior Springs. Tickets for the reception are required and may be purchased by contacting the Gregg Williams Foundation at (816) 260-0637. An auction will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. at the Elms Resort and Spa.

On Friday, June 9th, the first flight of golfers in the Gregg Williams Tiger Classic is scheduled to hit the links beginning at 7:00 a.m. at the Excelsior Springs Golf Course, which is located at 1201 East Golf Hill Drive in Excelsior Springs. The afternoon flight of golfers will begin play at 1:30 p.m. This year 84 four-person teams will compete for top honors in the golf tournament, and while the field is currently full, the Gregg Williams Foundation is currently accepting names for the waiting list. Following the golf outing on Friday, a reception will take place, highlighted by a full-fledged auction of unique items and experiences that have been donated to the foundation by the foundation's generous businesses and individual sponsors.

The Gregg Williams Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in December 2004 to provide support and funding to local school programs, to support programs for kids in the Excelsior Springs, MO area and provide funding to improve the Excelsior Springs community. The primary source of income for the Foundation is derived from various fund-raising activities that include a local golf tournament (Gregg Williams Tiger Classic), VIP Reception, various auctions of donated items, raffles, cash donations and key sponsorship of the Excelsior Springs High School annual Hall of Fame dinner and awards ceremony.
