New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has agreed to terms with wide receiver Kevin Austin Jr..
Austin, 6-2, 200, was originally signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2022 out of Notre Dame. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla. native spent his rookie season on the Jaguars practice squad and went to training camp with the team in 2023. This past spring, Austin played for the UFL's Birmingham Stallions and finished with 15 receptions for 253 yards and two touchdowns. On May 4, at Memphis, Austin had four receptions for 108 yards (27.0 avg.) with an 80-yard touchdown, setting season-highs in all major receiving categories.
During his college career, he played in 26 games with 13 starts and finished with 54 receptions for 996 yards (18.4 avg.) and seven touchdowns. In 2021, he started all 13 games he played in, recording 48 receptions for 888 yards (18.5 avg.) with seven touchdowns, earning first-team Phil Steele All-Independent honors.
