New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has signed tackle Mark Evans II and waived tight end Mason Fairchild.
Evans II, 6 feet 4 295 pounds, returns to New Orleans after spending the majority of the 2024 offseason with the team and the entire 2023 season on the club's practice squad. Originally signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft, the Houston native appeared in 45 games with 40 starts in his career at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. As a senior in 2022, he started all 10 games at left tackle, earning first-team All-SWAC for third consecutive season.
