<span style="">New Orleans Saints cornerback Mike McKenzie and defensive tackle Kendrick Clancy teamed up to donate 100 bicycles to needy children this holiday season. The players held two separate giveaways and personally handed out the bikes and Christmas greetings to underprivileged children from various New Orleans communities.
The first giveaway was held at Bonnabel High School in Kenner in collaboration with the Kenner Police Department while the second took place at the Louisiana Children's Defense Fund Office in downtown New Orleans.
McKenzie donated the bikes through his "34 Ways" Foundation, which brightens the lives of families in the New Orleans metropolitan area each Christmas by its charitable work. McKenzie also offered some uplifting words to the families at Bonnabel High School, reminding them that each day spent with loved ones is a gift in itself.
"I love helping these people during the holidays," said McKenzie. "It's a blessing to me to be able to provide a few gifts for the kids. I just want them to feel blessed and focus on what they have, not what they don't have," he added.
Clancy added, "it's a wonderful feeling to help put smiles on kids faces, particularly this time of year. I am blessed with the opportunity to be able to help some people brighten up the holidays a little bit for some come kids and that's important to me."
