New Orleans Saints linebacker Michael Mauti spoke with sixth- through eighth-grade students at Christ Episocpal School in Covington on Tuesday, Nov. 17.
Mauti's mother works at the school and requested that he speak with students to stress the importance of setting goals and working hard.
Mauti spoke to the students, answered questions and showed a video of his blocked punt against Atlanta from earlier this season.
"Today was their Black and Gold day and I came to talk about goal-setting and overcoming adversity, basically motivational speaking for these kids," said Mauti, who attended Mandeville High School before playing his college football at Penn State, "Any time I can get in front of the kids and help bring a positive message is a great thing."
