New Orleans Saints and Hornets Owner Tom Benson and his wife Gayle hosted a "Toast for the Coast" fundraising gala, presented by Cox Communications and Ochsner Health System, Saturday night at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans.
The event benefited New Orleans community programs and coastal restoration initiatives.
The evening featured entertainment by the Jason Marsalis Trio, Big Sam's Funky Nation, live and silent auctions and the opportunity to enjoy a seated formal dinner with the entire Hornets team and coaching staff.
Prior to the dinner, fans had the chance an hour to meet and greet with Hornets players and staff, including a flip book setup and x-rcade games.
As the Hornets, soon to be Pelicans, transition into a new identity, the team's cornerstone community platforms will focus on two initiatives to ensure the future success and prosperity of the Gulf South region: the health and sustainability of our coastal wetlands and the health and fitness of our region's children.
