The New Orleans Saints have partnered with the American Red Cross to support its 2012 Holiday Mail for Heroes program.

Each year, the American Red Cross provides assistance to more than 2 million service members and many of our nation's 24 million veterans. They support military families, military and veterans hospitals, and provide emergency communications across the globe. Once a year, they deliver holiday cards to veterans, military families, and active-duty service members at hospitals and installations around the world. The cards and personal messages, sent by tens of thousands of Americans, provide a welcomed "touch of home" for our troops during the holiday season.

SCHOOL CONTEST: Enter your school into a random drawing for its chance to win a Saints Junior Training Camp or Saints Player Appearance at your school! Simply send in at least 100 cards and add the designation of HOLIDAY MAIL FOR HEROES - SAINTS SCHOOL CONTEST on the large envelope containing the individual cards. Three (3) schools who enter the contest will be recognized as winners. Contest ends upon the designated delivery deadline of December 7th.

Print and sign as many cards as you'd like, just be sure to observe the following guidelines to ensure a quick reviewing process:
*Every card received will be screened for hazardous materials by Pitney Bowes and then reviewed by Red Cross volunteers working around the country.
*Ensure that all cards are signed.
*Do not include email or home addresses on the cards: the program is not meant to foster pen pal relationships.
*Do not include inserts of any kind, including photos: these items will be removed during the reviewing process.
*Please refrain from using glitter or using loose glitter, as it can aggravate health issues of ill and injured warriors.
* Any and all postage and handling fees must be covered by the sender.
*If you are mailing a large quantity of cards, please bundle them and place them in large mailing envelopes or flat rate postal shipping boxes. Each card does not need its own envelope, as envelopes will be removed from all cards before distribution.

The envelope containing your holiday greeting card(s) should be labeled with your return address.  Please address and mail them to:

American Red Cross - Holiday Mail for Heroes
Attn:  Deanna Swanier – NE3-077
2025 E. Street NW
Washington, D.C., 20006

The delivery deadline is Friday, December 7th.  Holiday cards received after this date cannot be guaranteed delivery.

A special thanks goes out to all Saints fans who have already signed cards (printed courtesy of Mpress Printing) for this very special cause!

Let our troops know that SAINTS FANS appreciate their sacrifices and are thinking of them during this holiday season!
